Turkey midfielder Emre has won high praise from
Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder for his attitude and commitment during a difficult season at St James' Park.
The 26-year-old schemer has been under pressure due to a calf injury, in addition to having to fend off accusations of using racist language in a game earlier this season.
Emre has only recently returned to action after his injury problems, but Roeder is more than happy with his player's efforts.
He said: "I have been very pleased, but that does not surprise me. He is a terrific little pro. He lives right, plays right and wants to play all the time.
"The racism charge did affect him for a period of time, because he knew it was not true and thankfully the commission agreed with him that he had no case to answer.
"That has been a big relief for him and he has got on with his life. He is an excellent footballer."
