Redknapp Hands Pardew A 'Gift Horse'!
Harry Redknapp will not be playing his full strength team against Newcastle on Sunday.
Ben Haim, 31, has linked up with former R's centre-back Ryan Nelsen who is now in Canada. The Israel international was boss Harry Redknapp's first signing in the January transfer window and made six appearances in all competitions this season.
He started Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Arsenal but will now move to Canada and Toronto, who are currently second from bottom in the Eastern Conference, until June 30 when his Loftus Road contract expires.
"Tal Ben Haim has been one of the top defenders in the EPL for nearly a decade. He captains his national team and Ryan thinks the world of him," said Toronto FC President and General Manager Kevin Payne. "He's exactly the sort of veteran defender we need."
Redknapp could also play some youngsters: "We have to look at next season now we are relegated, and I will be picking my team with that in mind."
There is also trouble in the camp ... QPR have fined midfielder Stephane Mbia for a number of tweets that appeared on his official Twitter account. The Cameroon international, who joined QPR from Marseille last summer, appeared to contact Joey Barton and ask if he fancied swapping clubs.
Mbia denied sending the messages, claiming someone got hold of his login and password, but QPR's head of media and communications Ian Taylor confirmed in a statement that the 26-year-old had been fined.
He said: "The club has concluded its investigation following a series of tweets which appeared on Stephane Mbia's official Twitter account.
"Stephane has stressed to the club that he is not responsible for the Tweets. However the club is of the view that every player that has a Twitter account is ultimately responsible for what appears on it.
"As a result, Stephane has been fined and warned in relation to his future conduct. The club will be making no further comment."
