Coming to Newcastle from Marseille on a three year contract, Senegalese born Beye has been one of the better additions in recent history for Newcastle. Signed on deadline day in August 2007, Beye went on and played the whole season at Right Back, a position which saw him be named the NUFC Player of the Season. Good under pressure, solid in the air and comfortable on the ball with both feet, Newcastle fans will hope he can maintain the performances from the 07/08 season for many years to come.
