Pardew Wants Toon Fans To Forget Carroll And Nolan

Alan Pardew has told the Newcastle United fans to forget about Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan. Pardew now hopes the supporters will start to look forward, rather than back, as their pre-season preparations begin in earnest today. Alan Pardew: “It can be easy to look at who isn’t at the club, but it is always exciting to see new players and what they can produce. “There’s always the chance for new heroes. “By that time the season starts, there could well be new faces to go with the new players we already have. We’ll have to see. “This will be a chance for our fans not only to see a game at St James’s Park against top quality opponents – it will be the first chance to see some new faces.” How much money there is left for Pardew to spend, remains a guarded subject. When Carroll was sold, both Pardew and managing director Derek Llambias pledged that the £35m would be reinvested in the club, but while only Cabaye has cost a fee – believed to be £4.8m – Pardew hinted that agents fees and signing-on payments for free transfers Ba and Marveaux had also taken up a significant chunk of that money.
