Pardew Eyes Central Defender

Newcastle United are allegedly after Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.

Alan Pardew is in the market for a new central defender and Wales international Williams is thought to be on his wanted list.

Williams missed only one game for the Welsh club last season.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year extension to his contract in August last year and is approaching 200 appearances for the club since joining from Stockport County in 2008.
