Pardew Defends 'Want Away' Cabaye!
It's time to repair the damage, but shouldn't it be Yohan Cabaye doing the repairing, rather than Ashley 'door mat' Alan Pardew?
Pardew has welcomed Yohan Cabaye's application since a proposed move to Arsenal failed to materialise, and I'm sure excuses will unfold (Pardew's special talent) blaming everyone - or everything - other than Cabaye.Newcastle rejected an offer for Cabaye last month and the France midfielder, who was left out of the side while a transfer remained a possibility, returned (from the bench) for the victory over Fulham which preceded the international break.Cabaye's "strike action" saw him omitted by his country for their World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Belarus - an action that deserves credit - as Pardew did f*** all to put the player in his place.
On strike for THREE matches, and he got away with it - no fine, no training with the reserves, nothing!
So it's time to push it under thre carpoet, and according to Pardew, Cabaye has spent the past 10 days getting in shape for this weekend's trip to Aston Villa.
But what can the club do now? He wants to move on, but we are stuck with him until January at the very least.
Perhaps we will see a mystery injury before long, to keep him out of the spotlight for a while.
It's gonna happen. Trust me.Alan Pardew: "Yohan Cabaye stayed behind and has had a full week here.
"He's been able to get a lot of work done. His wife has just had a baby too."Yohan has just got on with his work and settled down. He's getting on with the job in hand. He's been terrific and he's just got his head down to get on with life."Ah well ... that's nice to know ... he's terrific.
