Nolan wins November award
03 Dec 2009 - 15:00:12
Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan has been named the PFA Championship Fans' Player of the Month for the second time in succession.
Nolan took his season goals tally to nine with the winner against Preston North End last week and has added the November fans' award to his October haul.
The 29-year-old beat off competition from Magpies team-mates Alan Smith and Steve Harper plus Swansea City midfielder Darren Pratley to land the award.
"On a personal note, hopefully the awards will keep coming and if that happens, it will mean I am probably scoring goals and the team is winning matches," said the former Bolton midfielder.
"If I can keep popping up with goals here and there - and match-winning ones are more pleasing - then great. But I would rather win every game between now and the end of the season and not score at all.
"With the quality we have in the side we know we are going to get opportunities. West Brom are doing well and scoring goals but we have to keep going and plugging away.
"Hopefully we will start to open that gap away from the rest. I think there'll be a few teams up there, don't get me wrong, but it's up to us and West Brom to try and make a push to get away from them."
