Newcastle were pushed all the way in a hard-fought victory over Plymouth.The hosts scored early with Stephen Taylor nodding in Geremi's corner but Karl Duguid equalised after the break with good work from Cillian Sheridan. Newcastle keeper Steve Harper saved Gary Sawyer's shot but then substitute Danny Guthrie crossed in for Kevin Nolan to head in at the back post.
