Magpies stick with Bramble
14 Sep 2006 - 08:32:13
Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder has decided to keep faith with Titus Bramble for Thursday's UEFA Cup clash with Levadia Tallinn.
The inconsistent central defender was at fault for both goals as Fulham came from behind to win 2-1 at St James' Park on Saturday, but will get the chance to redeem himself in the first round first leg tie in Estonia.
"Titus will start the game," Roeder told the club's official website.
"You have to show faith in people, and it would be unfair to leave him out after the mistakes that happened on Saturday.
"He has scored some very important goals to get us here, and as I say it would be unfair to leave him out. Loyalty works both ways."
Surprise deadline day signing Antoine Sibierski looks set to make his Magpies debut in Tallinn, while Olivier Bernard will be on the bench following his return to the club at the start of the month.
Nolberto Solano and Steven Taylor did not travel with the squad because of hamstring and foot problems respectively.
