Newcastle United's unsettled Spanish striker Albert Luque is desperate to leave the club when the transfer window reopens in January after enduring a miserable time in the north-east.
The 28-year-old has started only 11 games for the Magpies since moving to Tyneside from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2005, and played no part in the Carling Cup win against Watford or Saturday's goalless draw at Manchester City.
"My situation is now desperate," Luque told the News of the World.
"It is incredible that I was not picked for Watford. The final decision is with the coach and, if he is not interested in me, the best solution is for me to go, probably in the winter market.
"I'm very unhappy here."
