Lovenkrands ponders future

The agent of former Newcastle United forward Peter Lovenkrands has not ruled out the possibility of his client returning to St James' Park next season.

The 29-year-old Denmark international scored three times in 12 appearances for the Magpies last season, having joined on a short-term deal from German club Schalke.

Lovenkrands' agent, Ivan Marko Benes, told The Chronicle: "I really can't say anything about this as Peter is on vacation and we will talk to him about finding a new club when he returns.

"Is it out of the question that he stays at Newcastle? I don't think so.

"But we will find a club for him and that's what we are working on now. What does he wish for in his future career? He wants to stay in the UK."
