Kinnear slams N'Zogbia talk

Interim Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear has dismissed claims that he is looking to offload Charles N'Zogbia in January.

The 21-year-old Frenchman was reported to be unwanted on Tyneside and was linked with a move to Paris St Germain when the transfer window reopens.

But Kinnear has described as "nonsense" stories that he was willing to let the France Under-21 international leave St James' Park.

N'Zogbia has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies this season.

"I've read reports suggesting Charles is a player I'm looking to sell during the transfer window. I don't know who puts these stories out, but it's just nonsense," he told the club's official website.

"We've got a big challenge ahead of us this season and we're all very aware of that.

"Charles is an important member of the squad and is very much in my plans.

"You want to add players of Charles' quality to the squad, not lose them."
