Kinnear hints at Enrique boost

Joe Kinnear hopes Jose Enrique will have recovered from a hamstring injury in time to feature for Newcastle United in Sunday's trip to Everton.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has not played since picking up the problem in last month's defeat at Newcastle United, when Kevin Keegan was still in charge of the club.

"I think it's more than likely Jose Enrique will be back, from what Chris (Hughton) tells me," interim boss Kinnear told the Gazette. "And we'll also have Danny Guthrie back from suspension.

"Unfortunately, the key players we've got missing could make us a better side. Chris says there are six players who, if fit, could be in the team. We've also not got the strongest bench."

Right-back Habib Beye remains on the sidelines with an Achilles problem while Mark Viduka is expected to fly to his Australia next week to see a specialist about his own troublesome Achilles injury.

Viduka has not featured in the first team so far this season.
