Newcastle United defender Habib Beye may have his red card in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City rescinded after referee Rob Styles agreed to take another look at the incident.
The Senegal international was sent off for tripping Robinho, who stepped up to open the scoring from the resulting penalty, but interim Magpies boss Joe Kinnear has revealed that Styles will study replays of the 12th-minute decision.
The former Wimbledon and Luton Town boss said after the draw: "I've been in to have a chat with him and he's prepared to have a look at it, and he'll let me know what his views are in about four or five days.
"Habib's such an honest kid. He said to me, 'Gaffer, I swear to God, I got the ball first'. Thankfully, the TV playback clearly shows he did get the ball first.
"It was a hard one to call, but referees, like all of us, make mistakes and, please God, he'll put it right because we aren't in a position now, having just got Beye back, that I'd want to lose him."
Of his side's display, Kinnear added: "You couldn't have asked for more, could you? My point of view is that we were unfortunate not to have won it.
"It would have been a hell of a result, winning a game as important as it was with the pressure that's been on all of us, and playing a decent side in Man City.
"We've had two tough games since I've been here, and yet we haven't managed to get our best eleven out on the pitch."
