Boss Joe Kinnear is hopeful that Newcastle United can continue their rise up the Premier League table, following a dramatic 2-1 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Damien Duff's last-minute winner lifted the Magpies four points clear of the relegation places, with Kinnear now happy to be looking up rather than down at the battle to avoid the drop.
He said: "I am looking upwards, really, but I am still well aware you could get on a bad run just as well as get on a good run.
"If we were to stay injury-free, I would be permanently looking up.
"I came in here under difficult terms and it was a case of getting on with the job.
"I have always felt confident that I am capable of doing that and making sure no-one else gets it and hopefully it will continue in the same vein.
"I have a good relationship with all the players and I am getting the best out of them. That's the only thing that really keeps you in a job, your results."
