Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan believes a victory against Fulham at St James' Park on Saturday could lead to a chain reaction for the relegation-plagued club.
The Magpies have slipped into relegation danger after embarking on a run of 13 league games without a victory.
Their last three-point haul came via a 1-0 win over Fulham in December and Keegan - who himself is still chasing a first win in nine games at the helm - believes a return to winning ways on Saturday will spark an upturn in fortunes.
"I will tell the players only to win - I don't even want to think about defeat, it's a game we want to win," Keegan told the club's official website.
"The mood has been excellent and there is plenty of people who care at this club. There's a lot of good thing here.
"We can't do anything about the games that have gone but we can do something about this one.
"It's a big game, Steve Harper said Birmingham (on Monday evening) was one of the biggest games in recent history which is quite a statement but he wasn't far wrong.
"We didn't lose and got a point now Fulham is a chance to build on that.
"When you start winning it's contagious, losing is the same."
