Newcastle United have completed the signing of midfielder Danny Guthrie from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has agreed a four-year deal at St James' Park after struggling to break into the first team at Anfield.
Guthrie joined Liverpool's academy after being released by Manchester United when he was 15.
However, it was only last season when he was on loan at Bolton Wanderers that he secured regular first-team football after making 35 appearances for the Trotters.
"I'm absolutely delighted that we've got Danny," manager Kevin Keegan told the club's official website.
"He proved himself in the Premier League last season so we know he can play at that level.
"He's at the right age and is a good signing for us."
Guthrie added: "I'm really happy to be joining Newcastle United.
"I'm ready to get involved straight away and I cannot wait to meet the boys and get started."
