Emre relishing Turkey call

Newcastle United midfielder Emre believes playing back-to-back internationals for Turkey can only benefit the Magpies. The 27-year-old made only his second Premier League appearance of the season last weekend as he continued his comeback from a broken ankle suffered towards the end of the last campaign. Emre was on the mark in the 3-2 win over Everton and believes the opportunity to improve his match fitness while on international duty will help his comeback at club level. Turkey face Moldova and Greece in crunch Euro 2008 qualifiers in the space of five days. "I have said all along that I need games," he told the club's official website. "We have two very important matches for Turkey and if I play then of course it will help Newcastle because it will help my condition. "Every day that I train and every game that I play I feel better and better. "When I return after the international break hopefully I will be nearing top fitness and then I can think about winning my place in the team."
