Police today issued CCTV images of more Tyne-Wear derby yobs they want to trace. God bless Northumberland police.
They have released a fifth set of images of people they need to speak to in connection with disorder which took place on Sunday, April 14, in Newcastle city centre.
Since then, 65 people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with post-match incidents in the city.
All those arrested are on bail while further investigations take place.
Officers arrested 29 people on the day of the match for a variety of offences. It brings the total number of arrests to 94.
All those arrested are subject to bail conditions preventing them from attending Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and England matches.
Chief Superintendent Gary Calvert: “We continue to receive a lot of information from the public and have so far identified a significant number of people from the dozens of images we have released to the public.
“The arrest total is now at 94, and it is still very much an active investigation. Information continues to be processed and we will be making more arrests.
“I’d continue to urge those in the images not to leave the onus on the public to get in touch with us.
“If they see themselves they should take responsibility and come forward so we can speak to them.
“This is a fast-moving inquiry, and I’d like to reassure people who have been in touch with us that any information given to us is vital.
“Everything we have received is being followed up at the earliest opportunity.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
