Concern As Carroll Pulls Out Of Second Fixture

Andy Carroll pulled out of England Under-21s' European Championship qualifiers against Portugal and Lithuania and Chris Hughton withdrew Nile Ranger from the reserve team last night. Ranger didn't play against Liverpool Reserves last night as a precaution, and we will have to wait and see if Carroll recovers in time for the weekend. Hughton: “We have to make sure he is rid of the problem. "When it happened before the Wolves game he didn’t train for five days. And there was still a lot of swelling afterwards. “We’re confident he’ll be okay for Blackpool, but as always we’ll continue to assess his fitness throughout the week.”
