Clarky Set For Sack At Birmingham?
Life is growing tougher by the day for Toon legend Lee Clark at Birmingham City.
But Kevin Keegan's former "buffer" Terry McDermott has every confidence that the Blues will not be relegation fodder. They fell into the Championship drop-zone for the first time since coming out of the top-flight in 2011 after defeat at St Andrew's by Charlton Athletic. In such a crucial game, Blues under-performed badly, but assistant boss McDermott insisted that Blues can get out of the bottom three.
McDermott handled media duties after the match as manager Lee Clark went AWOL.Terry McDermott: “To go from such a high of playing well against Stoke – I say a high, but we didn’t go through in the cup, but put on a performance – to the low of Saturday, it is not easy to swallow.“It will take a couple of days to get over this. But get over it we must.“There are a lot of games to go. We are in a bad position, no one is pretending we are not.“But we will get out of it, I am quite convinced of that. We have got too many good players.“It is a bad position, it is not a position we want, but it is not a position where we anticipate being for long.“We have got a good dressing room, a great spirit, but on the day those players didn’t turn up.“Lee’s hurting, we are all hurting."What now for the ex-Newcastle star?
