Can Ranger Save His Career?

Nile Ranger still has "a long road" to go down before he can believe he is part of the first-team picture.

The 21-year-old started the game in France against Bordeaux - his first start in more than two years.

Ranger is in contention for a place in the squad that visits Fulham on Monday night, but Alan Pardew hands out a warning to keep Ranger's feet on the ground.

Alan Pardew: “It’s difficult when you haven’t played a lot of football.

“He competed and did the job that was asked.

“He almost got a goal at the end.

“He’s got a long road, he knows that.”
