Bradford City Don't Have Man Utd's 'Pull' With The FA!
Published : 09 Dec 2012 12:37:34Rss feed
Curtis Good's loan switch to Bradford City has turned into a disaster after his FA Cup appearance last week against Brentford resulted in the Bantams being thrown out of the competition.
The FA claim that Good’s paperwork had not been received in time for the player to be registered, but there were rumours at St James' Park that Newcastle did not want the player to be cup-tied ... and did not send the paperwork in the first place.
Bradford beg to differ and will appeal against the FA’s decision.
The Bantams did not receive written permission for Good to play in the competition by the noon deadline on the day of the fixture, which ended 1-1 at Valley Parade.
The tie had been due to go to a replay but the FA announced they had expelled City from the competition yesterday and gave them until 5pm to launch an appeal.
Bradford confirmed: “Bradford City Football Club can confirm that they will be appealing the FA’s decision to expel the club from this season’s FA Cup competition.”
So, I'm sure Newcastle United will be dragged into the argument, but RULES ARE RULES.
Let's face it, what chance do the minnows of Bradford City have to over-turn FA Cup rules? Only Manchester United can get away with that!
Remember when Man Utd refused to play in the FA Cup because they wanted to play in a World Cup championship in Brazil?
The rules are there for everyone to see: "Any club that doesn't play in the FA Cup MUST qualify at the first qualifying round stage the following season."
Did it happen?
Did it shite!
