Newcastle United defender Habib Beye is hoping to extend his contract on Tyneside despite still having two years remaining on his existing deal.
The Senegal international has made 27 appearances for the Magpies after being brought to St James' Park by former manager Sam Allardyce last summer.
"I want to stay here for a lot of years," the former Marseille full-back told the club's official website. "I have two more years on my contract and maybe I have to speak with the manager for maybe more years.
"I love this club and I love the city. When I left Marseille it was difficult for me because I played there for four years and everyone liked me.
"You come here and you don't know the country and you don't know the club.
"But when I came here everyone was very friendly and the fans were brilliant. The stadium is incredible and it gives me great pleasure to play there."
