Bassong joins Cameroon squad

Newcastle United defender Sebastien Bassong looks set to make his debut for Cameroon in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers next month.The 22-year-old was among the first players to arrive at the Indomitable Lions training camp in Belgium. Cameroon will play Morocco on 7 June and Gabon 13 days later. Bassong is a former France Under-21 player but because he did not play a competitive match for the French juniors, he can play for Cameroon.
