Barton focuses on Magpies

Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton claims he isn't too bothered if he fails to add to the solitary England cap he has won to date. The controversial 25-year-old former Manchester City schemer's only outing for his country came in a friendly against Spain earlier this year. However, he rubbed several of his international colleagues up the wrong way at the time and Barton he insists he doesn't care too much about having a future with England. He told The Daily Mail: "If England comes then so be it, but I've played for them once and that will do for me. I'm more interested in domestic honours. "People get carried away about playing for their country. "It's always nice to be selected and it's always a privilege and an honour, but I'd much rather be successful for Newcastle than I would for England."
