Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton could finally make his first-team debut for the Magpies against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined by a broken foot since making his summer switch from Manchester City, but is now itching to get out onto the field.
Magpies boss Sam Allardyce told the Northern Echo: "He is almost a nuisance, but the right sort of nuisance, if you see what I mean.
"He is training 24-7 and he is always bothering and pestering the staff about what else he can do to maintain his fitness and improve his chances of coming back as quickly as he can.
"He is actually so into getting back into football that he persists in badgering the staff.
"Joey has been around the place for a while now and is as chirpy as hell, while being hugely frustrated.
"He has shown tremendous commitment and a tremendous attitude, especially in his support for the rest of the team.
"For me that helps build a really good team spirit, which is what it is all about."
