Aston Villa's Stephen Ireland has admitted he did not want to join Newcastle United last season. Ireland was crocked when he arrived, and made just two appearances – totaling a mere 49 minutes – as a Magpie. Stephen Ireland: “I got sent to Newcastle basically against my own will. “I came here (to Villa) as a new signing, and I was here to play every second of every game. I came here really determined and wanted to kick on.”
