Sammy Ameobi says the Toon players need to get back on the right track at St Mary's.

Sammy Ameobi admits Newcastle United need to build a solid foundation on their away travels – after “crumbling” at St James’s Park.

Sammy Ameobi: “We need to pick up our form.

“In the last game they (Southampton) had to fight to get the win.

“It’s not going to be easy. They’ll be up in confidence.

“We’ll be fired up for the weekend, and hopefully everybody can be on the right note.

“Obviously, we’re in a period where we’ve lost two home games.

“We’re in that stage where we can be a bit nervous, so we have to pick it up, really.

“We have to get back on the right track.”
