'Scottish Messi' - Don't You Just LOVE It!

Apparently, Newcastle United are being linked with ... WAIT FOR IT ...

... the kid dubbed the ‘Scottish Messi’.

Ryan Gauld is the lad, and he plays for Scottish Premiership club Dundee United.

Just 17 years of age, he has already played 23 times for The Arabs, scoring five goals. Although it would have been more impressive if he had done it in the Winlaton & West End Methodist Sunday rather than the Scottish Premiership, because in Winlaton they have 14 teams (the Scottish Premiership only has one - Celtic).

One report in the Glencoe Highlands claims Spanish heavyweights, Real Madrid, have scouted young Gauld on a number of occasions (*although it may have been a Spanish tourist heading to Fort William).

His impressive form for club has led to a recent Scotland U21 call. Making his debut in a 1-1 draw with Georgia last week, he was reportedly watched by scouts from Newcastle, Liverpool and Everton (oh yes, and Real Madrid - or perhaps he was just a guy wearing a sombrero sat on a donkey) as he played out the full 90.

His Dundee United teammate, John Souttar - the 'Scottish Pele', turned down Sunderland's bid (although the offer of £600,000 was accepted by the club).

The REAL Reason Zaha Could End Up At Newcastle?

Why has Wilfried Zaha yet to play in the league this season and been linked with a move to St James' Park?

Newcastle have increased their interest in Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha by opening talks to sign him on-loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports suggest Zaha's representatives have met with Newcastle officials to discuss the possibility of a six-moth deal.

David Moyes has ruled out a return to former club Crystal Palace.

Zaha was signed by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson in January - his last signing before retiring from Old Trafford - but has only featured in United's League Cup win over Norwich this season while playing under Moyes.

However ...  Wilfried Zaha has been forced to deny he has been dropped by Moyes because he had an affair with the manager's daughter.

The £15million winger tweeted to rubbish 'silly rumours' about an alleged relationship between him and Lauren Moyes,19.

Lauren has been trending on Twitter and has since deleted her account because of the mischievous claims. Zaha was left out of the Red Devils' squad for the 1-1 draw with Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine.

Before the Champions League match he wrote: 'Silly rumours. #childish', which has now been retweeted more than 1,600 times.

IDEAL FOR CHRISTMAS

MAGPIES IN EUROPE -

HARVEY TO PARDEW

The new version of "Magpies In Europe" will be launched next week.

Although NUFC are not talking to the Chronicle or Sunday Sun ... we are!

And the full story is expected to be in newspapers within the next two weeks.

The official new title is "Magpies In Europe - Harvey To Pardew" and is an up-dated version of "From Antwerp To Zurich" - which includes the 14 Europa League fixtures we played last season.

The 280-page book features match reports from the 134 European matches Newcastle United have played, starting with the memorable 4-0 win over Feyenoord in 1968 on our European debut.

Included are stats and the figures you would expect, but also each away fixture has the remarkable experiences of individuals who travelled to watch the matches.

Introduction by "Big Bad" John McNamee, part of the Fairs Cup winning team of 1969.

It is a fascinating history that every Newcastle United fan will enjoy.

And with a limited print-run, make sure you order a copy.
