The young Dutch goalkeeper signed for the Magpies from Dutch side ADO Den Haag in 2005 on a three year deal. Krul’s first game for the senior team was in the friendly defeat to PSV in the build up to the 2006 campaign. Krul’s name would soon be on the lips of every Newcastle fan after he debuted professionally in Newcastle’s UEFA Cup game away to Palermo. His shot stopping and general saves were hailed by all Newcastle fans as he kept a clean sheet and helped Newcastle earn a massive result in Italy. Recent times have seen Krul sent out on loan to Falkirk, Scotland, where he made twenty-two appearances for the Bairns.
