Xisco suffers injury blow

ewcastle striker Xisco has been ruled out for up to three weeks after breaking his big toe in a reserve match with Wigan.[LNB] The Magpies' second string won the game 5-0 with the Spanish forward grabbing two goals before a clash of boots with an opposing defender ended his involvement in the game.[LNB]The 22-year-old, who signed from Deportivo la Coruna for £5.7million in the summer, tried to carry on but scans later revealed the extent of the injury.[LNB]Xisco has endured a tough start to life in the Premier League. Since scoring on his debut against Hull City in September he has gone on to feature in just six more games.[LNB]"Xisco's expected to be out for three weeks, and it's a real blow," coach Chris Hughton told the club's official website.[LNB]Struggling"He's got a toe injury. At the time he did it, he tried to carry on, but he was struggling.[LNB]"It's very, very swollen and it's looking like a few weeks. The game on Monday was an ideal time to play some players.[LNB]"Alan Smith, of course, came through fine and (Claudio) Cacapa got 90 minutes.[LNB]"They're all pluses but, unfortunately, 10 minutes before the end, Xisco suffered his injury. If he hadn't, it would have been a good exercise."[LNB]
