Wrong Place For Forster To Impress

With the door open for England to find a stand-in for Man City's Joe Hart ... former Toon keeper Fraser Forster wants some of the action.

He has waited for two years to find a Premiership club willing to give him a chance, and in the end he had to take the only offer that was put on the table ... to play in Scotland's "One Team League".

Deep down Forster knows it is possibly the worst place he could play football to impress England manager Roy Hodgson ... but he had no choice.

It was either join Celtic, or be so far down the pecking order at St James' Park he probably wouldn't get a game all season!

However ... he is hoping exposure on the Champions League stage this season can help him catch the eye of the England manager.  Forster: "All I can do is play well for Celtic and keep knocking at the door. There could be any reason (not being picked) but it can only help me if we get into the Champions League, that can only benefit me and progress me as a player."
