Woodwork Ruins Chopra's Dream!

Former Toon striker Michael Chopra scored at Wembley on Saturday ... but his two efforts that hit the bar cost Cardiff the most lucrative £90million promotion in play-off history. Veteran striker Brett Ormerod hit the goal to fire Blackpool to the Premier League as they beat Cardiff 3-2 in the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final. The Lancashire outfit have been out of the top flight since 1971 but they showed remarkable character to twice come from behind at Wembley. Michael Chopra put Cardiff ahead but Charlie Adam levelled with a free-kick for his 19th goal of the season before Joe Ledley restored the Welsh club's lead with a neat finish. Yet Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Ormerod struck from close range shortly before the break to put Blackpool in front. Cardiff boss David Jones saw his hopes go up in smoke when Chopra twice rattled the bar: "Well done to Blackpool, we have to swallow it and we've got to move on." "I wish Ollie all the very best. He's earned it, he's got there and I wish him all the very, very best. He's a good friend of mine and well done to him."
