Woodgate To Retire?
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has, once again, major concerns over the future of Jonathan Woodgate. We reported on NU-Mad back in April that Redknapp said this coming season was the crossroads for the former Newcastle defender. Woodgate will certainly miss the start of the season. The 30-year-old centre-half has been dogged by injuries in recent years and only made three appearances for Tottenham last term. He has not travelled with the squad for their tour of the United States and now faces a struggle to break into the first-team squad. Redknapp: "Jonathan will not be fit for the start of the season. "He's in a position where he can't train or kick a ball. "We hoped he would be ready, but that is far from the case I'm afraid. "All we can do is wait and see how he goes."
