Newcastle have confirmed that Dennis Wise has left the club.[LNB] With Alan Shearer due to be named as the Magpies' new manager on Thursday for the final eight games of the season, Wise's exit had been predicted in some quarters.[LNB]The former Leeds boss was controversially appointed as executive director (football) in January 2008 as Magpies owner Mike Ashley overhauled the club's internal hierarchy.[LNB]Wise became even more unpopular with many of the Toon Army in the wake of former boss Kevin Keegan's resignation in September last year, with the Newcastle favourite citing interference from above as a key factor in his departure.[LNB]The North East club, who are in the Premier League relegation zone and two points away from a position of safety, insist that they are not looking for a replacement for Wise.[LNB]A statement on the club's official website read: "Newcastle United can today confirm that Dennis Wise has left his position as executive director (football).[LNB]"The club would like to take this opportunity to wish Dennis well for the future. [LNB]"There are no plans to appoint a replacement in this role."[LNB]
