Williamson Faces Trial By TV!
Mike Williamson's challenge on Bolton striker Johan Elmander is to be investigated by the Football Association in a move that could see him suspended for the Chelsea game. The FA said today: "We will be looking at the footage and establishing firstly if the referee saw it and secondly, if he didn't, whether he would have shown a red card if he had." Howard Webb sent off Fabricio Coloccini for elbowing Elmander, and that could see both Newcastle first-choice central defenders missing for the league match against champions Chelsea at St James' Park this coming Sunday. But we have Steven Taylor and Sol Campbell back from injury and they are ready to step in.
