Toon legends don't come bigger than the late Jackie Milburn ... and he often spoke of his experiences as an England international when the big stars trying to coax him away from Tyneside. Milburn: "I was only on £10 a week at Newcastle and the London-based players often told me I could make more if I moved away from the club. "I was probably the least paid player in the England team, and some of them were not shy reminding me of it." The player currently wearing Milburn's old number nine shirt, Andy Carroll,  had an in-depth meeting with England boss Fabio Capello yesterday and it is understood Carroll will start against France tomorrow if he he is fully fit. Carroll underwent tests on his groin yesterday (but did not train) but he was checked out again this morning by the FA medical team and was given the nod to train in accordance with United's physio team on Tyneside. Capello wants him to spend time with established stars like Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand, and that is where the "Milburn Treatment" could kick in. Capello said today: "The private life of Carroll is not so good. "But you have to understand that he is only young. "He needs to learn something about how to behave off the field. "We have to help him to do that. "He needs to understand what the right things to do in his private life are. "I hope that he will learn something from the older players and the leaders of the senior team."
