The 24-year-old Nigeria star has been interesting Premier League clubs but an £8million asking price and wages of around £60,000 mean the wealthy Wolves may be his best chance of a move away from the Championship.
Habib Beye may withdraw from Newcastle's friendly at Leyton Orient after being injured in a fracas at Huddersfield on Tuesday night.
The Senegal defender was kicked in the 20-man incident, which the FA will now investigate.
Beye is likely to move on soon and Everton, Hull, Bolton and West Ham had scouts at the game.
