Wigan Could Be Without Skipper For Toon Trip

Antolin Alcaraz is Wigan Athletic's biggest concern ahead of tomorrow's trip to St James' Park. The stand-in skipper is struggling with an ankle problem that forced him to miss Paraguay’s recent double-header Down Under against Australia and New Zealand. Alcaraz has been an ever-present since joining Latics from Club Brugge in the summer, and Roberto Martinez will give him until the last minute to prove his fitness. Roberto Martinez: “Antolin has a nasty, swollen ankle, and we still don’t know if he’ll be okay. “He was selected for Paraguay and was ready to travel, but he had a bit of a reaction after the Wolves game and he couldn’t go. “It’s a lot better now but he’s still a little bit of a concern.”
