One-time Newcastle United and Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has been in evidence on the Newmarket gallops of late keeping tabs on a two-year-old that he is involved with currently in training with Peter Chapple-Hyam. The youngster, who was ridden by Robert Havlin in a piece of work on the Watered Gallop earlier this week, is showing promise and has been given the topical tongue-in-cheek name Neduardo after the controversial Arsenal frontman. By Monsieur Bond, the chestnut is only a few weeks off a run and should be able to pick up a race at one of the lesser venues this autumn. His namesake Eduardo was in the news recently when avoiding any punishment for an alleged dive to win a penalty against Celtic in the Champions League in August. After saddling only a handful of runners to date, Sir Michael Stoute has a wealth of two-year-old talent yet to unleash in the coming weeks. Among those currently coming to the fore at Freemason Lodge are the Dansili colt Warm Memories, who is from a family that Stoute knows well as he is a half-brother to none other than classy stablemate Doctor Fremantle. Also in the ownership of Khalid Abdulla is Total Command, a full brother to the high class Quiff, who won the Yorkshire Oaks and finished runner up in the St Leger for Stoute in 2004. Total Command, who looks a next year type, is also closely related to Group 2 Great Voltigeur winner Arabian Gulf. Arsenal striker Eduardo Not good with hurdles: Arsenal striker Eduardo John Gosden is also replete with youngsters to introduce at this time and the Dubawi filly Deirdre is expected to make a splash on her debut in the Avanta EBF Maiden Fillies Stakes at Kempton on Monday. The youngster worked well on the Al Bahathri Polytrack on Wednesday morning and is a half sister to her high class four-year old stablemate Duncan, placed at Group 1 level this summer. Also of note from this quarter is Lunar Victory, a rare sales purchase by Khalid Abdulla when bought for $350,000 at Keeneland last year. The son of Speightstown is related to winners and is expected to put up a bold show on his intended debut in the prestigious Haynes, Hanson and Clark Stakes at Newbury on Friday.
