Wheater Happy To Snub Toon?
Reports today suggest Bolton Wanderers fought off Newcastle to sign defender David Wheater in January. He was a target of Chris Hughton, at a time when Boro wouldn't sell, but Wheater says Alan Pardew made a move for him in January, but he thought he would stand a better chance of Premiership football at the Reebok.
