Newcastle have signed their third French player of the summer, bringing in France Under-19 international Mehdi Abeid. Yep, another big name who can walk straight into the team, eh? The 18-year-old midfielder has been given a five-year contract following a trial. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has already signed France midfielders Yohan Cabaye and Sylvain Marveaux. Reserve team manager Peter Beardsley: "We are delighted to bring Mehdi to the club. "He is a bright, young talent and we think he has an exciting future ahead of him." Ah well, at least Pedro is happy.
