We’ll make signings – Hughton
CHRIS HUGHTON has expressed confidence that he will be in a position to sign players this summer.[LNB] Newcastle owner Mike Ashley expects there to be no capital outlay on new players during the close season, but Hughton expects to be able to make the improvements he is targeting.[LNB] I'm very, very confident that we will be able to make additions, he said. I'm aware of where the club is financially and aware of what the situation is, and I'm confident we'll be able to strengthen the squad.[LNB] My job now is to make sure we go into the season with a squad that is able to cope with what will be a tough season.[LNB] Newcastle have confirmed that Kenny Wharton has left his previous position in the Academy. The club have also appointed former Newcastle Airport press officer Wendy Taylor as their new head of media.[LNB]
