We Told You Three Weeks Ago - But It Is Confirmed At Last!

Yes ... the worst kept secret in Chilly Jockoland ... Alan Thompson has returned to Parkhead to take up the role of first team coach at Celtic. IT'S OFFICIAL. The problem was, Celtic didn't really want former skipper Neil Lennon ... and offered the job to quite a few people (who all turned it down). But - 'beggers cannot be choosers' as they say in those parts - and Lennon was given the chance to impress the Tims. So Thompson, who recently quit his post at Newcastle (and probably wished he hadn't when the manager's job was being offered elsewhere), will join up with Lennon and be part of the Celtic manager’s back room staff. During his seven years playing in the "Two Club Scottish Premier League" , Thompson won four SPL titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups. Rangers won the rest.
