We Already Know Best Can Score Against League One Sides

Leon Best took his time to get off the mark for Newcastle United, but all of a sudden a goal against Carlisle in a friendly, and Chris Hughton is tipping him to set the Premiership alight. Leon Best has yet to win over the Toon fans, and many still believe Hughton should take the first offer that lands on the table this summer. Whether anyone WILL place an offer, is open to debate, but the fact Best opened his account at Carlisle did not have many Toon fans dancing in Botchergate on Saturday night. After all Alan Smith scored in friendly against the mighty Juventus ... and that's his lot (to date). Chris Hughton: "It was difficult for Leon when he came last year. "We were very much in a rhythm, particularly in his position. "Wayne Routledge came in at the same time, and played regularly. So did Mike Williamson. It was difficult, because it almost motivated the other strikers we had. "He's come back in really good shape. He's worked really hard, and I thought he did really well. "Apart from the goal, he set up another. His first goal in a Newcastle shirt will mean something to him."
