Wages Stands In The Way Of Wright-Phillips Deal!

Shaun Wright-Phillips re-emerged as a Newcastle target yesterday after Roberto Mancini confirmed he would be allowed to leave Eastlands.   But Man City want a sizeable loan fee and the players high wages will be a barrier ... unless the club can off-load Sol Campbell to leave to free up more finance. The unsettled defender is looking for more first-team football and has interested West Ham, who would match his Newcastle wages – but a move to Celtic would require the veteran to take a big pay cut.
