Teenager Adam Armstrong and midfielder Gael Bigirimana were also on target in the Under-21 Premier League fixture at The Hawthorns.
Director of football Kinnear watched from the stands as Willie Donachie’s side came from behind to win.
Bigirimana gave United an early lead with a 35-yard effort, but West Brom struck twice inside a minute and took the lead, only for Vuckic to level in the 25th minute.
Morgan Ferrier gave the home side a 3-2 half-time advantage, but Vuckic netted a second equaliser in the 75th minute, and highly-rated teenager Armstrong, 16, scored a dramatic winner late in the game.
Defender Remie Streete, from South Shields, was also in Donachie’s team along with James Tavernier and Curtis Good.
