Villa Flop Heading To Tyneside ... Again?

27 June 2011 10:20
The Sunday Sun report Alan Pardew has not given up hope of signing Aston Villa flop Stephen Ireland. Signed when injured, Ireland made only two substitute appearances for Newcastle after a combination of ankle, knee and thigh problems kept him on the sidelines. But the player is now injury-free and hoping to relaunch his career next season. Newcastle would be prepared to pay around £2million for Ireland, but Villa wanted an unreasonable £5million in January. However, they may be prepared to cut their losses on a player who has not settled in the second city.
