Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh has confirmed that Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins is on his short-list of potential signings. Veh is looking to increase his attacking options for the new season and is keen to bring in a player to complement the talents of Edin Dzeko and Grafite. Martins has been linked with the German champions and the Nigeria international has suggested he would be keen on a move to the Bundesliga. "The player is on our short-list," Veh told Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung. "We have Edin Dzeko and Grafite, two rather tall front men playing centre-forward. "That is why we are looking for a striker that could play a bit more on or from the wing." He added: "I expect us to be on the way to clinching a signing, perhaps it will be next week when we will be able to come up with an announcement." Fascinated Meanwhile, Dzeko is confident he will eventually join AC Milan after Wolfsburg denied the Bosnian striker a move to the San Siro this summer. Dzeko told Die Welt: "I am 23 years old and I receive an offer from the club I have always dreamed about - it was only honest for me to say I wanted to go there. "I stand by what I said. I was fascinated with this club from when I was a little boy. "I don't know why, but AC Milan was always the biggest team in the world for me. I always wanted to go there. "You don't always get what you want in life, at least not straight away. "It was the club's right to say no. That's just the way things are."
